Below are the four most popular trips however Peñíscola, Forat de Bernia, the cave in Marina Alta and the underground boat trip at the San Josep Caves are also great trips which we have done in the past.
Hanging Bridges Cañon de Turia
Starting and finishing in the beautiful white village of Chulilla 12.5km circular walk through the Cañon of the river Turia is possibly the most famous in the Valencia area. We begin by descending into the cañon, crossing the hanging bridges and walking up to the huge dam. We then return to Chulilla through a different steep sided valley. The walk is relatively flat and normally takes around 4hours it is done with a picnic lunch (not included in the price of the trip). In the summer there is a section of the route which takes about an hour and has no shade however there is also an opportunity to to go swimming in the summer at the end of the route. It is less than one hours drive in land from Valencia.

Ruta de Agua & Peña Cortada Roman Aqueduct
The ruta de aguaand Peña Cortada roman aqueduct is a 15km circular route between 2 villages Calles and Chelva. One section is a fluvial walk with spectacular colours in the autumn or a great swimming spot in the summer. On the other side of the walk is the spectacular 1st century roman aqueduct and tunnel system. The walk takes around 5 hours. It is mostly flat with only around 100 meters ascent . In the summer we usually do the aqueduct towards the start of the route, have a picnic lunch and a swim towards the end At other times of year we start with the fluvial section have a simple bocadillo in at a cafe in the main plaza in Chelva. (not included in the price of the trip) and finish at the Roman Aqueduct which is the most spectacular part of the route.
Montenejos & The Thermal Springs
Montenejos is a town in the mountains just over an hour from Valencia which has an alpine feel to it. It is famous for its thermal spring which has a constant temperature of around 23c year round and it is true, we have been there in January when it was snowing and it was pleasant, a bit cold when we got out though. https://sierradeespadan.com/pueblos/fuente-banos-montanejos/
Depending on the season there are two walks that we do. In the summer when the cafe bar next to the thermales are open we do the shorter 6km walk to Cueva Negra and the highest point on the south side of Canyon Maimona. In coolder weather we do the full circular walk around the Canyon, about 11 km
Bocairent, Covetes del Moros & Pou Clar Pools
This is a great day out combining a guided tour of tiny caves that were inhabited 700 years ago, a visit to a historic town and a short but beautiful walk through a steep sided valley
From Valencia we will drive to the beautiful and historic town of Bocairent for a look round and to have a coffee before our visit to the tiny caves Covetes de Moros (cost 3€ not included in the price) www.bocairent.org/tours/covetes-dels-moros/
Afte rthe caves we will head to the charming rock pools at Poa Clar and eat our picnic lunch there. Finally we will do 6 km circular walk of Barranco de Tarrongers, 200 meter ascent. There is no other short walk around Valencia that has such a great variety. The top of the ridge has an alpine feel then we descend into the valley which is green with a river flowing through it and old ruined water mills.
