Valencia Excursions Club was started by Howard, a Scot who moved to and fell in love with Valencia in 2015. Not just because Valencia is a beautiful city with good weather but also because it is surrounded by beautiful countryside nature and mountains
After working for three and a half years as an English teacher and organising walking trips as a hobby he decided to see if he could earn a living doing what he loved.
The idea was to create a hybrid between a walking group and a tour operator, having also worked in the travel industry for many years. So the trips are run with the professionalism of a tour operator, all routes are reconnaissance in advance, we limit the size of the groups and we have our own vehicle, you won’t find yourself traveling in a dirty car with a driver who isn’t the greatest. However we run more than 50 different trips, so we rarely do the same trip more than twice a year. Most people who come on trips a re regulars that join a couple of times a month so you will meet new people and make friends.
We are a social outdoor group rather than a pure hiking group. Some of our walks are more challenging but we also do things other than walking. We will often visit a historic attraction combined with a walk. We also do wine tasting, cheese tasting, on quite a number of trips we do a walk in the morning and finish at a restaurant for lunch and there are a few trips with kayaking and a cycle.
