Pyrenees & Aragón Adventure – 5 Days /4 Nights
Day 1 – Journey into History & the Pyrenees (A Day That Sets the Tone)

Our adventure begins with a scenic drive north towards the Pyrenees, but this is far more than just a travel day.

Our first stop is the haunting ghost town of Belchite, one of Spain’s most powerful historical sites. Destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and left untouched as a memorial, walking through its silent streets is a truly moving and unforgettable experience.

Afterwards, we’ll continue our journey with relaxed coffee and lunch stops along the way, enjoying Aragón’s landscapes as they slowly become more dramatic.

By mid to late afternoon we arrive in the heart of the Pyrenees with time to stretch our legs on a beautiful introductory walk:

  • Valle de Bujaruelo – 5 km (2 hours) . 150 m ascent
    A gentle, scenic walk ideal after travel, offering rivers, open valleys, and our first taste of Pyrenean wilderness.

We then settle into our base for the next three nights.


Accommodation – Monte Perdido (3 Nights)

We stay at the welcoming Hotel Edelweiss, perfectly located in the centre of Torla-Ordesa, the most beautiful mountain town in the region.

Day 2 – Cola de Caballo (Ordesa National Park)

A classic and unforgettable Pyrenean hike:

  • 19 km | 740 m ascent
  • A steady, well-graded ascent that never feels too steep
  • Waterfalls, forest trails, towering cliffs, and the iconic Cola de Caballo waterfall

Day 3 – Faja de Racón

A spectacular balcony trail carved into the cliffs of Ordesa:

  • 11 km | 670 m ascent
  • One of the most scenic routes in the park with dramatic views throughout

Day 4 – Waterfalls, Zaragoza & Albarracín

We begin with a short and impressive walk to:

  • Cascada del Sorrosal (Broto) – a stunning waterfall right beside the village

From here we drive to Zaragoza, Spain’s 5th largest city, for lunch and a short guided walk through the historic centre, including a visit to its magnificent cathedral.

In the afternoon we continue to the fairy-tale town of Albarracín, where we check into: Hotel Albarracín (3★) – room only

After a short rest, we enjoy a 3 km flat riverside walk, finishing back in town in time for dinner among Albarracín’s medieval streets.


Day 5 – Albarracín Views & Nature on the Way Home

After breakfast we walk up to the ancient walls of Albarracín, enjoying breathtaking views down over the town and surrounding countryside.

On our return to Valencia, we finish with a final nature highlight:

  • Camino Natural del Guadalaviar – 8 km return walk to Embalse de San Blas
    Here there’s time to swim or hire kayaks, a perfect relaxed ending to the trip.
