Castillo de Mauz, Font de Castro
23 Nov 09.30 Aragon 58
Sold Out / Agotado
The Castillo de Mauz route is a beautiful and easy 8.km circular route with 150 meter ascent. The route is varied but alot of it through a forrest, possibly the nicest woodland walk in the area. The first section is along a valley side until we reach a fountain, Font del Castro. We then head up through a lovely forest until we reach a ruined 11th century castle with views out to the Mediterranean where we will eat lunch before returning via a different route.
We also combine the route with a morning coffee stop before the walk in the beautiful arabic style plaza in the town of Onda

Baranco del Infierno, 6000 Steps
24 Nov 08.30 Aragon 58
30€ Guests / 24€ Members
Barranco del Infierno, or La Catedral de Senderismo is “A Pligrimage” for Valencian hikers, it even has a Wikipedia page dedicated to it
Begining in the village of Fleix south of Valencia the geology of the walk is spectacular and completely different from anything in Valencia province.
The walk is not technically difficult however it is 16km long with three up and down sections each of around 300 meters so together you are looking at a combined ascent of around 900 meters and requires a reasonable level of fitness but it is well worth the effort.
We will have a a coffee before the walk and a drink in the village 1.5km before the end of the walk note that the earlier departure time of 8.30 as the days are shorter at the end of November and we don’t want to be doing the final part of the walk in the dark

Cañon del Jucar, Cofrentes
30 Nov 08.45 Aragon 58
30€ Guests / 24€ Members
Spectacular is the only word to describe El Cañone del Jucar. National Geographical called it “The mini Grand Canyon” it is surprising that outside the Valencian community it isn’t all that well known. The section which is easily accessible is not a particularly long walk 10km return with around a 200 meter ascent most of which is fairly gentle no dramatic steep sections, it is a walk that many of our member do more than once
There are also some old mining tunnels that are interesting to explore and afterwards we will go for a drink in the pretty town of Cofrentes and walk up to the castle there.
BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. Wear shoes suitable for walking and carry 1 litre of water
Pico De Ave, Dos Aguas
01 Dec 09.00 Metro Stop Ciutat Arts i Ciències Justícia
30€ Guests / 24€ Members
OK, I admit it one of the reasons I like this walk is it reminds me of the Scotish Highlands! (on a good day!) From the treeless top of Pico de Ave I think you can see further in every direction than any other walk in the Valencian community. Cortes de Pallas and Los Cañones Del Jucar, it is spectacular.
The starting point is the pretty town of Dos Aguas one hour from Valencia. The walk is 9km return with a 650 meter ascent. Most of the path is good and the ascent quite steady however the last 15 minutes to the peak is quite rocky and a bit of an adventure. However if you don’t feel comfortable with it you don’t have to do it, you still get a good view and we come back down the same way.
BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH. Wear shoes suitable for walking and carry 1 litre of water
Note that the meeting point is the Metro Stop Ciutat Arts i Ciències Justícia du e to The Valencia Marathon, Note that many roads will be closed to vehicles and allow enough travel time

Cheese Tasting and picnic at Ain Castle
07 Dec 9.00 Aragon 58
27,5€ Guests/22€ Members
We are going to combine some cheese tasting with a short walk which has great autumn colours and an elaborate picnic lunch.
From Valencia we are going to drive to the village of Almedujar to visit the artisan cheese producer Quesería Artesana Los Corrales.
Here they make cheese from a mixture of goat, sheep and cow milk. We usually try four or five cheeses then have a chance to buy some, prices are very reasonable for artisan cheese from around 20 euros per KG. They also sell wine. We can then buy some cheese to take home and some to have for lunch.
After that we will head the beautiful Village of Ain. Here we will go a short circular walk through the village to some of the riverside Molinos and up to the castle overlooking the village and Sierra Espadan where we will enjoy our elaborate picnic
Bring breads biscuits, wines or anything else you would like to share with the group and wear shoes suitable for walking. cups, peper plates, knives and a bottle opener will be provided
Cima de Monduver, Forat de la Drova
08 Dec 9.00 Aragon 58
30€ Guests / 24€ Members
Monduver is the distinctive mountain with antenas at the top which can be seen from the AP7 autopista near Gandia. Valencia Bonita included it in their top 10 routes in the Valencian Community.
At 841 meter in height, almost 100 meters higher than nearby Montgo it has incredible views. We are going to do an 9 km circular route which is both the easiest and the most interesting because it includes the cave Forat de la Drova. The first section is up to the cave shown in the photo which is really cool. We then follow the ridge above cave up to the peak with the antenas which by far the highest point in the area, we then return bu a diferent route which has some lovely alpine trees. In total the ascent is 450 meters and most of the path is quite good expect for a section along the ridge just after the cave which is quite rocky.
